Pharmacy Audit Research and QI group

About this Network

About the Network

The Pharmacy Audit, Research and Quality Improvement (PARQ ) Group is an organisational network within the Pharmacy Department at Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust. The group aims to encourage and support pharmacy staff to become more involved in audit, quality improvement, service evaluation, and research, while providing opportunities to share learning and celebrate achievements across the department.

The group plays an important role in promoting a culture of continuous improvement and evidence-based practice, helping staff develop the skills and confidence to investigate, evaluate, and improve pharmacy services for the benefit of patients.

Our Aims

The group aims to:

  • Encourage pharmacy staff to participate in audit, quality improvement, service evaluation, and research activities.
  • Share projects, findings, and learning across the pharmacy department.
  • Support the delivery of the department’s Audit and Quality Improvement Plan.
  • Foster an interest in research and create opportunities for staff to develop research skills.
  • Build links with regional research networks and academic partners.

Meetings

The group currently meets every two months via Microsoft Teams following its recent relaunch. As the network becomes established, meetings are expected to move to a quarterly schedule.

Meetings provide a forum for members to:

  • Discuss ongoing and planned projects.
  • Share progress and outcomes from audits, QI initiatives, and research.
  • Explore opportunities for collaboration.
  • Learn from colleagues’ experiences and best practice.

Membership

Membership is open to all pharmacists and technicians within the department and is free to join. The group benefits from this multidisciplinary involvement, recognising the valuable contribution of the wider pharmacy workforce to quality improvement and research.

Research Links

Developing research capability is a key ambition of the group. Several members are actively involved with the South West Pharmacy Research Group, coordinated by the University of Bath, helping to strengthen links between clinical practice and academic research and creating opportunities for collaboration across the region.

Get Involved

Whether you are new to audit and quality improvement or already involved in research, the Pharmacy Audit, Research and Quality Improvement Group welcomes colleagues who are interested in improving patient care through investigation, innovation, and shared learning.
