Pharmacy Research UK (PRUK) is the principle funder of Pharmacy research in the UK. Established in 2012 from a merger of two previous research funding charities, our mission is to improve the health of the public through excellence in Pharmacy research. Whilst we are a relatively new organisation, we have a legacy of supporting and promoting Pharmacy research since the late 1990s, which provides a strong foundation for this ambition.
We fund research across a wide range of topics in Pharmacy and utilise our research outputs to develop and support policy and practice relevant to pharmacy, health and social care.
The Scientific Advisory Panel (SAP) provides strategic advice to the Board of Trustees on the development of PRUK’s research grant giving strategy, objectives and research priorities. The Panel also plays an important role in ensuring that the research we fund is fairly assessed and of the highest quality.
We are looking to recruit a new expert member to the Panel to bring enthusiasm, experience and who has a willingness to speak their mind. We are seeking a new member who has relevant academic experience within Pharmacy and holds a clinical academic role (senior lecturer level or equivalent). The successful candidate will become an ambassador and represent the values of PRUK.
The Panel meets 3 times annually in London for a full day meeting. There will be some preparatory work in the lead up to the meetings, such as with reviewing applications for funding, therefore consideration needs to be made for work prior to the meetings and all members must be available to contact outside of the meeting via email. Panel members may be asked to attend sub-panel meetings on occasion.
Please note this is an unpaid role but reasonable expenses relating to PRUK activity will be paid.
If you are interested in this role, please email your CV and a covering letter to Victoria Evans at practice.research@rpharms.com. The closing date for this role is 9am on 21st November.
