Research and evidence in pharmacy: engaging to improve patient care

Join us to explore #WhyWeDoResearch on May 15th, 12-1pm

PRUK are delighted to be working with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society and WePharmacists as part of the international #whywedoresearch campaign. The campaign aims to explore pharmacy professionals’ experiences and attitudes towards research and evaluation, and how look at how evidence impacts policy and practice.  Held in the form of a Tweet chat, the discussion will be held on 15th May from 12 noon to 1pm, using the hashtag #WhyWeDoResearch.  Join in via the hashtag (#) or follow all of the action via our Twitter handle: @PharmResUk.

The chat will provide a platform to share pharmacy research and evaluation and how this has improved patient care and developed the profession.  It will also highlight the resources that pharmacy professionals have found most useful in developing their projects and programmes of work.

This chat will be building on the research strand of the tweet chat #pharmacy24, also hosted by @WePharmacists, which ran for 24 hours on the 13th April, celebrating all things pharmacy related.  See the research based #pharmacy24 Storify analysis for a brief look at some of what went on.

This chat is open to all, regardless of sector or career stage. Come and share your evidence and experiences.

The #WhyWeDoResearch campaign launched for the first time in 2014 and has reached 22 countries, with around 11,000 participants, over 200 million impressions and more than 150,000 tweets. Annually #WhyWeDoResearch campaigns promote global connectivity to communicate, engage and educate Twitter users and champion brilliant research. Now pharmacy has its opportunity to showcase the incredible research that goes on in the sector.

We look forward to speaking with you on May 15th!
