Rachel Joynes

Trust Director

I am accountable and responsible for PRUK activities, working closely with the Board of Trustees to deliver our vision and strategy. I have oversight of our work in research funding, policy, fundraising, partnership, impact and communications in addition to leading the financial management of the charity.

Alongside my role at PRUK I am also the Head of Research and Evaluation for the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (www.rpharms.com). I have a MBiol in Biology, an MSc in Neuroscience and a PhD in developmental biology/ genetics; prior to joining PRUK I have had research management roles in academia, the NHS and the medical charity sector.

Ardeshier Mofidi

Research Manager

I am responsible for the daily operations of Pharmacy Research UK, including the preparation of all call launches, processing applications from submission to outcome and liaising with applicants and stakeholders.  I am also the lead for setting up research contracts and monitoring the current Pharmacy Research UK portfolio.

I have previously worked in the NIHR Research for Patient Benefit programme, where I was involved in the commissioning of research for patient benefit. I have also managed the NIHR School for Primary Care Research.  I have a BSc in Psychology and an MSc in Neuroscience, specialising in Cognitive Neuroscience.

Romana Kafedzic

Research Coordinator

I am responsible for the ongoing management of the annual Health Service Research and Pharmacy Practice (HSRPP) conference. I also act as the first point of contact for all external stakeholders and provide secretariat support to the PRUK team, as well as support in the organisation of events and communications.

I have a Bachelor of Health Science in Epidemiology and Policy from a little place called Christchurch in New Zealand. I moved to London 6 months ago with the goal of gaining international experience in the public health and pharmacy sector especially.

Kate Woode

Senior Fundraising & Communications Manager

I am responsible for all the Communications and Fundraising activities of Pharmacy Research UK. I promote our research programme, provide our reactionary statements, manage our communication channels such as our website and social media and lead the PRUK fundraising strategy.

I have an MA (Hons) in Natural Sciences (Pathology). Prior to joining PRUK I worked as a freelance communications consultant for the charity coalition, Remember A Charity as their Partnerships Manager and for Age UK (previously Help the Aged) as a Senior Manager within their Corporate Fundraising Account Management team.

Tamsin Cogan

Fundraising and Communications Assistant

My role revolves around raising the profile of the charity through the coordination of our communications channels and the administration around our fundraising activities. I post content on our social media channels and maintain our web presence. I also assist in helping to grow our income streams by contributing to funding applications.

I have an MA (Hons) in International Politics from Newcastle University. I have previously worked at Beating Bowel Cancer as a Fundraising Assistant, where I was responsible for the fundraising section of the website and their events newsletters.
